Philippa Murray - Founder and Director of Education
In 2001 I founded MNT Training with a firm desire to provide the highest quality courses that were both accessible and affordable for those working with children. Our company ethos is providing ‘Courses that Build Confidence and Careers’ -as a child I grew up in a family where dyslexia was prevalent and saw the impact this can have on a person’s self-belief and confidence. However I was also fortunate to witness how with the right support and encouragement those with dyslexia can learn to face fears, overcome hurdles and achieve their academic, personal and career aspirations with flying colours! I guess then it is no surprise that I ultimately ended up in education following time in the health and early years sectors and a science degree gained shortly after leaving school. I believe without question that our job as a company is to give that support and encouragement to our learners that I witnessed as a child. When not working I am mum to my 3 little girls and in the odd (rare!) moment to myself I love reading, learning and exercising.
Martin Murray - Director
Since its foundation in 2001 MNT had grown year on year and in 2010 I joined the organisation and was responsible for overseeing its transformation into a limited company. My role today is one of business development, constantly looking at new markets and how we can best serve the needs of tomorrow’s learners. There have been two exciting projects that we have developed in the last year. We have firstly cultivated a strong relationship with a large education provider in China and are in the process of developing a bespoke MNT Training programme for Chinese Nannies. Our second major project is the development of our market leading online learning portal which enables learners to train and qualify in the comfort of their own home. (As the father of 3 small children I am only too aware of the need for accessible learning opportunities for those with busy lives!) All of this couldn’t have happened without the welcome feedback we receive from our existing learners. So if you have an idea for a course you’d like us to provide, then please get in touch, we’d be delighted to hear your suggestions.
Pamela Wisdom -Training and Exams Co-ordinator
I pride myself in offering exceptional customer service. It’s in my blood – my father had his own business and from the time I could talk, I spent hours alongside him, learning the craft. My prime objective is to support and encourage learners throughout the time they are studying with us. I really enjoy helping those who aren’t sure about what to do to find the course/s that best suit their needs and aspirations. I’m very much a people person and this has been reflected in the roles I’ve had throughout my working life. Outside of work, I spend time at the gym, I love long country walks - although I really must improve my map reading skills. I’m also a volunteer driver for Contact the Elderly.
Paul Anscombe- Training and Marketing Co-ordinator
I work closely with both our Diploma learners and Apprentices, as well overseeing the Marketing and PR for the company. My background is in fundraising and marketing within the third sector with a number of leading charities. With two teachers as parents I suppose it was inevitable I would become involved in training and education at some stage. With such a wide range of new projects we are working on currently it is certainly an exciting time to be involved with MNT. Away from work I am a keen sportsman and love to travel
Jon Mackintosh- MNT Learning (VLE) Developer
I am the Online Learning Content and Graphics Developer at MNT Training. I developed the company Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) called "MNT Learning" which was launched in 2013. The arrival of "MNT Learning" has made the training we offer accessible to learners the world over and I enjoy logging on and seeing where in the world our learners are studying from! Outside of work I am in involved in amateur dramatics and photography.
Janine Naismith- Accountant
I joined the MNT team in 2010 and have responsibility for the financial reporting, day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, VAT and year end accounting. Time in the MNT office is interesting, varied and sometimes challenging, but the energy of the team is always inspiring. Before having a family I worked in London for PwC and more recently I have been busy helping other local businesses with their accounting. I am also involved in organising various fundraising events throughout the year for several local charities. When I am not spending time with my husband and two boys I enjoy reading, skiing and socialising with friends.
As well as the head office team we have an education team of around 30 assessors, verifiers, tutors and course writers/developers.
We are fortunate to have an incredibly experienced and talented education team who come from varied backgrounds including: University and FE lecturers, midwives, nurses, psychologists, a PND counsellor, multiple births expert, sleep trainers, teachers and former head teachers, Ofsted inspectors, EYPS, EYPS mentors, authors of textbooks, former CACHE EV's, nursery and pre-school owners and managers, health and care staff, early years practitioners spanning all sectors of the workforce, maternity nurses, doula's, breastfeeding counsellors, local authority early years personnel and HR personnel.
If our head office team can't answer our learner queries - there is usually someone in our education team who can!
