1. 12 Hour First Aid Course- (this course IS an acceptable course for child-carers wanting to become registered with Ofsted).

Length of Course: 2 days

Certificated Course: Yes (valid for 3 years - issued by MNT/First Aid trainer)

Suitable for: Anyone who cares for and/or works with children. This course is approved by the PFAA (Paediatric First Aid Association) and is recognised by Ofsted. It is now a requirement that all Ofsted registered childcarers hold this qualification.

Content : Incident Management, Unconscious Casualty, Resuscitation, Choking, Asthma, Bleeding, Epilepsy/Convulsions, Head Injuries, Fractures, Frost Bite/Hypothermia, Drowning, Electrical Injuries, Teething, Colic, Nappy rash, Cradle Cap, Diarrhoea & Vomiting, Heat Exhauastion, Poisoning, Sickle Cell, Meningitis, Epiglottitis, Respiratory Infections, Bites, Eye Injuries, Burns & Scalds, Muscular Injuries, Anaphylactic Shock.

2. Emergency Paediatric First Aid (please note this course is NOT suitable for child-carers wanting to become registered with Ofsted, but the 12 hour course listed above IS suitable).

Length of Course: 4.5 Hours (afternoon course)

Certificated Course: Yes (joint issue by MNT and First Aid Trainer - valid for 3 years from date of issue)

Assessed Course: Yes (practical assessment by First Aid Trainer)

Suitable For: Anyone at all! This is particularly important for parents, grandparents, childcarers and anyone who works where there are children. For most professional childcarers an emergency paediatric first aid certificate is almost an essential requirement and out of date certificates need to be renewed every 3 years.

Content: Course covers managing an incident, first aid kits, unconscious casualties, anaphylactic shock, choking, resucitation and where there is time fits, wounds and bleeding and burns. Course directed specifically at treating young babies and children upto 7years old.
