Diploma Home-Based Childcare

CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Home-Based Childcare (DHC).

PLEASE NOTE IT WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE TO ENROL FOR THIS COURSE AFTER DECEMBER 31st 2010. INSTEAD LEARNERS WILL BE ABLE TO ENROL ON THE NEW CACHE LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA FOR THE CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE'S WORKFORCE . PLEASE CALL FOR FURTHER DETAILS.

Overview: This Level 3 Diploma, has been designed by CACHE and the NCMA (National Childminding Association) specifically for nannies and childminders working in a home-based setting.

Accredited Course: Yes, this is a CACHE Level 3 qualification.

Structure of Diploma (DHC):

The DHC is a 5 Unit qualification.
Unit 1 is the Introduction to Childcare Practice (ICP), students MUST have taken Unit 1 and passed the multiple choice examination before being allowed to progress onto Units 2-5.

Mode of Delivery for Units 2-5 of the DHC: Home-study (no computer required).

Course Dates: Students can enrol and begin the course at any time.

Length of Course: Approximately 9-12 months. Students have the flexibilty to stop and start their Units to fit in with work /personal commitments (Maximum length of time allowed  is 3 years).

Assessed Course: Yes, one assessment per Unit  -  completed in the students own home (no exams for Units 2-5).

Suitable For: Childminders and Nannies, or those wishing to become a home-based child-carer.

Entry Criteria: 16 years of age or over. Ideally students will already be working in a home-based setting but this is not essential.

Cost: £185 per Unit (For Units 2-5-this price includes VAT and CACHE registration fees). Flexible payment options available.
